Enterprising Entrepreneurs Emerge With Sales Entity Truffle Pictures

The new era of global digital sales and distribution is ripe and full of opportunity for individuals who have and can adapt to the new dynamic mechanisms, in place and ever-emerging, to bring content to the consumer where, when, and how they want it.

London-based Truffle Pictures is a new film sales and production company headed up by former Director of Sales and Marketing at The Little Film Company, Elie Mechoulam, and Caroline Couret-Delègue, formerly Head of Sales and Acquisitions at Metrodome International.

The 50/50 equal partnership has secured financing from a group of Mechoulam contacts, and slate of selected films from Couret-Delègue filmmaker contacts.

Caroline Couret-Delègue commented: "Elie and I are thrilled to be launching Truffle Pictures, an international film sales company with a unique understanding of the ever-changing entertainment industry. With more than 20 years combined experience and longstanding relationships, we're perfectly positioned to not only help commercially viable films enter the marketplace but also provide a fully integrated service that ranges from production consultancy to festival strategy and distribution."

Elie Mechoulam said: "The consumption and distribution of feature films is undergoing a transitional phase and that is why Caroline and I are adamant about curtailing a marketing strategy on a film-by-film basis."

Couret-Delègue added: "We are both fervent advocates of the collaborative nature of our business and are in the final stages of securing lasting partners to help Truffle Pictures grow into the international powerhouse we are confident it will become."

Mechoulam has already secured an aggressive acquisition fund for Truffle Pictures and looks forward to further endowing it. He concluded: "Furthermore, our fully-funded production company will be launching shortly, which will make Truffle Pictures a one-stop-shop for filmmakers enabling them to get support on their films from beginning to end."

Truffle Pictures will unveil its first new titles at the upcoming American Film Market in Santa Monica, ranging from commercial high-concept films to talent-driven movies for mature audiences. The final line-up includes John Jencks' star studded adaptation of Stephen Fry's The Hippopotamus along with the chilling supernatural thriller We Go On by Jesse Holland and Andy Mitton.

Jennifer Dawson has also joined the team filling the essential role of Head of International Servicing. In addition, Jezz Vernon, who recently launched his own consultancy Port Royal London, will help oversee a variety of upcoming films on behalf of Truffle Pictures.

About Caroline Couret-Delègue

Caroline Couret-Delègue has worked in feature film production in Hollywood on movies such as Big Stan starring Rob Schneider, David Carradine and Jennifer Morrison, The Last Word with Winona Ryder and Wes Bentley (nominated for the Grand Jury prize at Sundance in 2008). Caroline relocated to London to take on responsibilities at Seven Arts Pictures. Through her consultancy company, Cherry Picked Pictures, she worked with the likes of Aspect Film and Lunatique Films. Subsequently, Caroline was head of International Sales at AV Pictures. For the past two years, Caroline created and ran Metrodome International. Although there was a steady stream of features from the Metrodome Group on her slate, her strength is evident in the partnerships she built with external producers and filmmakers. She is also an Inside Pictures Alumni (2016) and has been an IFTA Board Member for the past two years.

Elie Mechoulam started his career with tenure working with Robbie Little, a pioneer of independent film with over thirty years experience. His time at The little Film Company saw him become an integral part of the recent success and forward progression of the LA based sales outfit. Through theatrical successes such as Northern Soul by Ellen Constantine and the critically acclaimed The Fencer by Klaus Härö (Golden Globe Nominee – Best Foreign Language Film 2016), he has quickly established himself in the international sales area. He has established contacts with a group of high net worth individuals, with an interest in the international media arena.
