EXCLUSIVE: Crime film from director Justin Edgar is being launched at EFM.
Truffle Pictures will handle international sales on Justin Edgar’s new film and plan to launch the completed film at Berlin EFM.
The Marker is a dark thriller about a criminal seeking redemption by tracking down the daughter of the woman he killed. Along the way he is haunted by his guilt in the guise of the woman’s ghost.
It stars Frederick Schmidt (Starred Up, Snow in Paradise), Ana Ularu (Inferno, Emerald City) and John Hannah (Four Weddings and a Funeral, The Mummy, Marvel’s Agents of Shield). The supporting cast includes Struan Rodger (Kill List), Golden Globe nominee Cathy Tyson (Mona Lisa) and Andrew Shim (This is England).
Backers include Sharp House, Creative England and Met Film Post with Film Finances providing the completion bond.

The Marker marks a change of pace for Edgar following comedies such as Large for Film Four and the critically lauded Special People. His production company 104 films recently co-produced Notes on Blindness which has been nominated for 3 BAFTAS.
Ian Sharp added “We decided to hold back The Marker until we had finished the film and since screening early this year, it has created a flurry of excitement. Justin, the cast and crew have crafted a powerful story that will resonate with audiences. We can’t wait to launch it at the EFM”.
The producers are Ian Sharp and Rebecca Joerin-Sharp with Alex Usborne and Edgar producing for 104 films. Paul Ashton and Cavan Ash serve as executive producers for Creative England and Met Film Post respectively.
